Last Saturday evening the opulent Zuri Bar on Brunswick Street played host to a bevy of beautiful Pinups. Miss Pinup Australia was in town, with Qld and National titleholders rubbing shoulders with this year's entrants, all in full 1940s and 1950s dress.
Miss Pinup Australia is Australia's first national 1950s style Pinup pageant, and aims to encourage women of all ages and dress sizes to grow in confidence and reach their dreams. Entrants gain knowledge of authentic, period correct hair, makeup and costume, and develop performance skills and confidence through performing onstage in the State and National finals. As well as this, the ladies make lifetime friends and develop support networks across the country, brought together through the love of Vintage fashion!
Flying in from Sydney to host the Meet & Greet was Miss Pinup founder and Boogie Bop Dames photographer, Pixie Roberts. Pixie will be back in Brisbane on Saturday 14th June for the Qld State Finals. Qld title holders will then go on to compete in the National Finals held in Sydney on the 2nd August.
We wish all the best to the Qld Miss Pinup Australia entrants, and I can't wait to photograph you all onstage at the State Finals!
